Eve 6 – Manhattan

Eve 6
Manhattan, NYC: The Gramercy

Snap: Eve 6 was opening for Everclear. Between shows, I went down to meet them, because why not? Opening for Eve 6, though, was this band called Namesake. The people next to me thought they were Eve 6, which was hilarious because these Namesake kids weren’t even around in the 90s. They had to have been about 17-years-old. I understand that the booker thought they’d be good because they have that 90s emo-pop sound, but I don’t think they realized that everyone coming to this concert was coming out of nostalgia for 90s music, not because they wanted to discover a new boy band. Total wrong audience. It was a little awkward for a moment.

Snap:  He asked if there was anyone in the audience who moved to NY for college and then decided not to go home. I, along with a couple others, raised our hands. He said he’s afraid that’s what his daughter is going to do because she’s at Sarah Lawrence right now, and he doesn’t think she’ll want to move back to the west coast.
